Thyroid-stimulating hormone. The blood test that diagnoses thyroid problems.
Pituitary hormone that tells the thyroid to make more T4/T3. High TSH = underactive thyroid (pituitary screaming). Low TSH = overactive thyroid (pituitary muted). Target range for treated hypothyroidism: 0.5-2.5 mIU/L.
