Tirzepatide
Active ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound. Hits two hormone receptors (GLP-1 + GIP).
Tirzepatide is newer than semaglutide and works on two pathways instead of one, both GLP-1 and GIP receptors. Clinical trials have shown larger average weight loss than semaglutide in head-to-head comparisons.
